Salary Range: $61,000 - $96,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Traverse City that are seeking skilled CNC Swiss Lathe Operators. Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision parts.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and G-code programs.
• Perform in-process inspections using various metrology tools to ensure quality.
• Troubleshoot machine alarms, adjust offsets, and make minor program edits.
• Load raw material and unload finished parts, maintaining production schedules.
• Conduct routine machine maintenance, including cleaning and fluid checks.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years experience operating CNC Swiss-type lathes.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, comparators).
• Experience with tool changes, offsets, and basic machine maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAM software (e.g., PartMaker, Esprit) for programming Swiss machines.
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in precision manufacturing.
• Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience with quality inspection tools and CMM operation.
