Salary Range: $72,000 - $111,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Holland seeking Design Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs and develops new products or modifies existing ones to meet customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
• Creates detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of material using CAD software.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of designs.
• Conducts design reviews and implements feedback to optimize product performance, reliability, and ease of assembly.
• Performs engineering calculations and simulations to validate design concepts and predict product behavior.
• Investigates and resolves design-related issues during prototyping, production, and field use.
• Stays informed on new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes to drive continuous improvement in design practices.
• Develops and maintains design standards, guidelines, and documentation.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in product design within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
• Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining).
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex requirements into practical designs.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with PLM software beyond basic CAD integration.
• Familiarity with design for additive manufacturing (DFAM) principles.
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic FEA simulations to inform design decisions.
• Experience with low-code/no-code platforms for process automation.
• Certifications in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
