CNC Machinist | Portage, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Portage seeking CNC Machinists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.) to produce precision parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code programs.
• Perform in-process and final inspections of parts using various measuring tools to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials based on job requirements.
• Adjust machine settings and tooling offsets to achieve desired part dimensions and surface finishes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, G-code, and technical drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Strong understanding of various cutting tools, materials, and their applications.
• Experience with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and quality inspection.
• Ability to perform routine machine maintenance and identify potential issues.
• Commitment to safety protocols and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
