CNC Lathe Programmer | Charlotte, MI
Salary Range: $56,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and write CNC programs for lathe machines using CAM software.
- Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and part models to determine optimal machining strategies.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and inserts based on material and part geometry.
- Simulate and verify CNC programs to detect and resolve potential collisions or machining issues.
- Create and maintain tooling sheets, setup sheets, and other manufacturing documentation.
- Collaborate with machinists and engineers to optimize processes and troubleshoot production problems.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program efficiency and part quality.
Recommended Qualifications
- Proficient in G-code programming for CNC lathes.
- Demonstrated experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of various tooling, cutting parameters, and material properties.
- Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes for program testing and verification.
- Experience with in-process inspection and quality control procedures.
