Salary Range: $54,000 - $86,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop CMM programs for dimensional inspection of manufactured components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and quality standards to define inspection routines.
• Select appropriate probes, fixtures, and measurement strategies for accurate data acquisition.
• Perform first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final product validations.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing CMM programs to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve measurement issues.
• Maintain and calibrate CMM equipment, ensuring proper functionality and data integrity.
• Document inspection results, generate reports, and present data for quality analysis.

Recommended Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Metrology, Machining, Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience programming CMMs, preferably using PC-DMIS or Calypso software.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering blueprints, GD&T, and CAD models.
• Strong understanding of metrology principles, measurement techniques, and inspection processes.
• Experience with various CMM probing systems and fixture design.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD software for model-based definition (MBD) or Product and Manufacturing Information (PMI) data.
• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and its application to CMM data analysis.
• Ability to develop and implement automated inspection routines and data reporting.
• Knowledge of various material properties and their influence on measurement techniques.
