Salary Range: $58,000 - $85,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Manistee region seeking Buyers. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates—not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize cost and quality.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers to expand the vendor base and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance data to inform purchasing decisions and strategies.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
• Manage inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while meeting production demands.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a purchasing or buyer role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and inventory management.
• Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Bonus Qualifications

• APICS CSCP or CPIM certification
• Experience with ERP system implementation or optimization
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Fluency in a second language relevant to global supply chains (e.g., Mandarin, Spanish, German)
