Salary Range: $60,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares detailed cost estimates for manufacturing projects.
• Collaborates with engineering and production to define project scope and requirements.
• Analyzes blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Solicits and evaluates quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Presents estimates and proposals to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Identifies and quantifies cost factors such as production time, materials, and labor.
• Maintains accurate records of estimates, bids, and project costs.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately calculate material, labor, and overhead costs.
• Experience with ERP systems and specialized estimating software.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor) for data extraction and analysis.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and their impact on cost estimation.
• Certification in cost estimating (e.g., AACE International Certified Cost Professional).
• Proficiency in using specialized estimating software beyond basic spreadsheets (e.g., Sage Estimating, AccuBid).
• Strong understanding of global supply chain dynamics and their influence on material and logistics costs.
