Engineering Manager | St. Johns, MI

Salary Range: $111,000 - $160,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Oversee the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables.
  • Manage engineering project lifecycles from conception through implementation, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for engineering design, documentation, and quality control.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related field).
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing engineering projects from conception to completion within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and quality systems (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and their integration into manufacturing processes.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
  • Experience working with global teams or international manufacturing operations.
