Salary Range: $82,000 - $127,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Traverse City seeking Shop Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production schedules and resource allocation to meet manufacturing targets.
• Manage and mentor shop floor personnel, including performance reviews and training.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality control standards.
• Implement and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, coordinating with supply chain.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams on new product introductions.
• Prepare production reports and analyze performance metrics for management review.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate a team of skilled technicians.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience with production scheduling, quality control, and inventory management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with all levels of the organization.
• Technical proficiency in relevant machinery and tooling used in the manufacturing process.
