Supplier Quality Engineer | Rockford, MI

Salary Range: $82,000 - $116,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Rockford that are seeking skilled Supplier Quality Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supplier quality improvement plans.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues and non-conformances.
• Collaborate with sourcing and engineering teams on new supplier selection and qualification.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supplier quality.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for supplier quality processes and systems.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, or a related role within manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and quality tools (e.g., FMEA, PPAP, SPC, 8D).
• Demonstrated ability to conduct supplier audits and drive corrective actions.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced quality planning (AQP) processes like APQP and PPAP.
• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) techniques and software.
• Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 or IATF 16949.
• Proficiency in a second language, particularly for international supplier bases.
