Staff Accountant | Montague, MI

Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Montague seeking Staff Accountants who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements and various balance sheet accounts.
• Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring proper coding and timely payments.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close procedures.
• Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation.
• Assist with inventory valuation and reconciliation.
• Support external audits by providing requested documentation and information.
• Analyze expense variances and investigate discrepancies.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and cost accounting principles
• Experience with inventory accounting and reconciliation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
