Staff Accountant | Ludington, MI

Salary Range: $56,000 - $86,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Ludington seeking Staff Accountants who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements and various balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, including preparing supporting schedules.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation calculations.
• Support inventory costing and analysis, including variance explanations.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of experience in a Staff Accountant role, preferably in manufacturing
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
• Experience with inventory costing and analysis
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with an ERP system like SAP or Oracle
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles
• CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
• Experience with inventory costing and analysis
