IATF Quality Engineer | Allegan, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Allegan seeking IATF Quality Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IATF 16949 compliant quality management systems and procedures.
• Conduct internal audits and manage external audits to ensure IATF 16949 adherence and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead problem-solving activities using core tools (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa) for non-conformances and customer complaints.
• Facilitate APQP processes, including PPAP submissions and FMEA development, for new product introductions and changes.
• Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for process optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality requirements into manufacturing processes and product designs.
• Provide training and support on IATF 16949 standards, quality tools, and methodologies to enhance organizational capability.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge and practical application of IATF 16949 standards and core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
• Proven ability to lead problem-solving initiatives using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, or Fishbone diagrams.
• ASQ certifications (CQE, CSSBB) are highly desirable.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with AI/ML applications in quality control
• Proficiency in a second language relevant to global manufacturing (e.g., Mandarin, German, Spanish)
• Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 principles and their application in manufacturing quality
• Experience with advanced statistical software beyond Minitab (e.g., R, Python for data analysis)
