Salary Range: $53,000 - $85,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares detailed cost estimates for manufacturing projects, including labor, materials, and overhead.
• Analyzes blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to accurately determine project scope and requirements.
• Collaborates with sales, engineering, and production teams to gather necessary information for bid preparation.
• Identifies and evaluates potential cost-saving opportunities and alternative materials or processes.
• Maintains accurate records of estimates, bids, and project costs for future reference and analysis.
• Presents estimates and proposals to clients, clearly articulating the scope of work and associated costs.
• Stays informed about industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure competitive pricing.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately assess material, labor, and overhead costs.
• Experience with ERP systems and specialized estimating software.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for interacting with suppliers and internal teams.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Project management experience, particularly in new product introduction.
