Salary Range: $56,000 - $83,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in DeWitt that are seeking Fabrication Leads. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily fabrication operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise a team of fabricators, promoting skill development and a safe work environment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide fabrication processes.
  • Manage material inventory, ensuring availability of necessary components and minimizing waste.
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance for fabrication equipment.
  • Troubleshoot fabrication issues and implement corrective actions to maintain production flow.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize manufacturability of products.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
  • Demonstrated expertise in various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, STICK) and fabrication techniques.
  • Strong understanding of quality control procedures and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to train, mentor, and motivate a team of skilled fabricators.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for reviewing designs and creating fabrication drawings.
  • Certifications in welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welder) or other relevant fabrication techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and mentor junior fabricators.
  • Strong understanding of material properties and their application in fabrication.
