Payroll Specialist | Ludington, MI
Salary Range: $54,000 - $81,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Ludington that are seeking skilled Payroll Specialists. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all manufacturing employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay rates or deductions.
- Calculate and submit payroll taxes, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Reconcile payroll data with general ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare and distribute W-2 forms and other year-end payroll reports.
- Administer and track employee benefits such as health insurance, 401k, and paid time off.
Recommended Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience processing multi-state payroll for 500+ employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, UKG Pro) and timekeeping systems.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of wage and hour laws, including overtime calculations and prevailing wage.
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation and payroll journal entries.
