Salary Range: $74,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Byron Center seeking Packaging Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs and optimizes packaging solutions for new and existing products.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure packaging meets quality, cost, and sustainability targets.
• Conducts testing and validation of packaging materials and designs.
• Develops and maintains packaging specifications, standards, and documentation.
• Identifies and implements continuous improvement opportunities in packaging processes and materials.
• Troubleshoots packaging-related issues on the production line and implements corrective actions.
• Researches and evaluates new packaging technologies and materials.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in packaging engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for package design and analysis.
• Strong understanding of various packaging materials, their properties, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with packaging equipment, automation, and line integration.
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and quality control procedures for packaging.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software for packaging design.
• Knowledge of sustainable packaging materials and practices.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
• ISTA certification or experience with transit packaging testing.
• Project management experience, particularly with new product introductions.
