Salary Range: $86,000 - $126,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Paw Paw seeking Laser Weld Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Design and procure tooling and fixtures for laser welding applications.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for laser weld defects.
• Conduct material characterization and weldability studies to support process development.
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability and inspectability of laser welded components.
• Train production personnel on laser welding equipment operation and process control.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laser welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and control plans.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in laser welding processes, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of laser welding principles, equipment, and material interactions.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and weld specifications.
• Experience with process optimization, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to program and troubleshoot laser welding systems.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced laser welding techniques (e.g., remote welding, wobble welding).
• Familiarity with in-situ monitoring and process control systems for laser welding.
• Knowledge of metallography and failure analysis techniques specific to laser welded joints.
• Proficiency in programming and operating robotic systems for automated laser welding.
