Salary Range: $53,000 - $83,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of machinists, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
• Program, set up, and operate advanced CNC machinery and conventional machine tools.
• Interpret complex engineering blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications to determine machining processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, ensuring optimal part quality and production efficiency.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all machining equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure all machining operations adhere to safety protocols, quality standards, and production deadlines.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven leadership experience, including training and mentoring junior machinists.
• Expertise in setting up, operating, and maintaining various manual and CNC machines (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders).
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, bore gauges).
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills for troubleshooting machine issues and optimizing production processes.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming and simulation.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
• Ability to mentor junior machinists and contribute to their professional development.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs for machinery.
