Salary Range: $57,000 - $84,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Caledonia that are seeking skilled First Article Inspectors. Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough first article inspections (FAI) of components and assemblies according to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Verify dimensional accuracy using a variety of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, CMM, and optical comparators.
- Document detailed inspection results, including non-conformances and deviations, utilizing AS9102 forms and internal quality management systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Interpret complex blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T to accurately assess part conformity.
- Initiate and participate in root cause analysis for recurring first article failures and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of measurements.
Recommended Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications (GD&T).
- Demonstrated ability to use various precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
- Strong understanding of First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and AS9102 reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformances accurately.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with various measurement tools beyond CMM (e.g., optical comparators, laser scanners, profilometers).
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or similar professional certification.
- Familiarity with GD&T software and interpretation tools.
- Experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications, including those with advanced GD&T.
