EHS Manager | Allendale, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure the effectiveness of control measures.
• Manage hazardous waste programs, including proper storage, labeling, and disposal.
• Deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels, including new hire orientation and specialized training.
• Oversee the management of workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to integrate EHS considerations into new projects and processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs and systems.
• Professional EHS certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and their application to EHS.
• Proficiency in EHS software platforms (e.g., Gensuite, Intelex, Cority).
• Fluency in a second language relevant to the local workforce (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin).
