Salary Range: $126,000 - $176,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Plainwell region seeking Controllers. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates—not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including General Ledger, AP, AR, and payroll.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports.
• Lead the annual external audit process and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Manage cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation, standard costing, and overhead allocation.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and production variance analysis.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems implementation and optimization.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with an ERP implementation or major upgrade
• CPA or CMA certification
• Experience in a private equity-backed environment
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
• Advanced Excel and data modeling skills
