Salary Range: $53,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop CNC programs for 3-axis to 5-axis milling machines.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine parameters.
• Simulate and optimize tool paths to ensure efficiency and prevent collisions.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and machinists to troubleshoot and improve processes.
• Perform post-processing and generate setup sheets for machine operators.
• Conduct first-article inspections and make program adjustments as needed.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficient in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM) for generating G-code.
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming for 3-axis and multi-axis CNC mills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
• Experience with tool selection, cutting parameters, and fixture design for efficient machining processes.
• Knowledge of various materials (e.g., aluminum, steel, plastics) and their machining characteristics.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize CNC programs for improved cycle times and part quality.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with 5-axis programming.
• Proficiency in CAM software beyond basic G-code generation (e.g., advanced toolpath optimization, simulation).
• Familiarity with a variety of machine controls (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Haas).
• Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience with in-process gauging and metrology.
