EHS Manager | Kalamazoo, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Kalamazoo that are seeking skilled EHS Managers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and develop preventative measures for EHS-related incidents.
• Provide EHS training to employees at all levels, covering topics such as hazard communication, emergency response, and safe work practices.
• Manage hazardous waste programs, including proper storage, labeling, and disposal according to regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the EHS management system (e.g., ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate EHS considerations into new projects, equipment, and processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant environmental and safety regulations.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs and management systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 implementation and maintenance.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Proficiency in EHS software platforms (e.g., Intelex, Cority, Enablon).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
