Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the fabrication team in daily production activities.
  • Ensure all fabricated parts meet quality standards, specifications, and production deadlines.
  • Coordinate production schedules, material flow, and resource allocation for optimal efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, equipment malfunctions, and process inefficiencies.
  • Enforce strict safety protocols and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
  • Train and mentor fabrication technicians, fostering skill development and teamwork.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for fabrication processes and output.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on fabrication experience, including at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in various fabrication techniques (e.g., welding, cutting, forming, grinding) and equipment operation.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Proven leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols and quality standards within a fabrication shop.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for design review or fixture development.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior fabricators and apprentices.
  • Experience with advanced welding techniques or specialized material fabrication (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel).
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance for fabrication machinery.
