Salary Range: $82,000 - $122,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement welding procedures and specifications to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Oversee welding operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot welding defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables for specific manufacturing needs.
• Train and mentor welding personnel on best practices, new technologies, and quality control.
• Conduct root cause analysis for welding-related failures and implement preventative measures.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to optimize weldments for manufacturability and performance.
• Manage and maintain welding equipment, ensuring calibration and proper functioning.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) certification.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing welding procedures (WPS, PQR) according to industry codes (e.g., AWS, ASME, API).
• Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW) and their application in manufacturing.
• Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpreting NDT reports.
• Proficiency in welding metallurgy, material selection, and defect analysis.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with advanced NDT methods beyond standard visual inspection.
• - Certified welding inspector (CWI) or similar certification.
• - Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
• - Proficiency in CAD software for weldment design and simulation.
• - Experience with robotic welding systems and programming.
