Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize welding procedures and processes to meet quality and production standards.
• Select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and techniques for various manufacturing applications.
• Troubleshoot welding-related issues and implement corrective actions to ensure defect-free welds.
• Conduct welding training and qualification for welders and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with relevant welding codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to integrate welding considerations into product development.
• Monitor welding quality through inspections, testing, and data analysis.
• Research and implement new welding technologies and materials to improve efficiency and product performance.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in manufacturing environments, with a focus on welding processes and quality control.
• Strong understanding of welding metallurgy, joint design, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
• Proficiency in welding procedure specification (WPS) development and qualification.
• Experience with various welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and SAW.
• Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with advanced welding techniques (e.g., laser welding, electron beam welding, friction stir welding).
• - Familiarity with welding automation and robotic systems.
• - Knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and their application in welding.
• - Experience with welding simulation software and FEA analysis.
• - Certification in project management (e.g., PMP).
