Salary Range: $55,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize CMM inspection programs from CAD models, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and tolerance requirements to create robust measurement strategies.
  • Select appropriate CMM probes, fixtures, and measurement methods to ensure accurate and repeatable inspections.
  • Perform CMM program validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement for existing and new programs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve measurement issues and optimize inspection processes.
  • Document CMM programs, measurement routines, and inspection reports according to quality standards.
  • Provide technical support and training to CMM operators on program execution and data interpretation.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
  • Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience with various CMM types, probing systems, and measurement techniques.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and metrology best practices.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Proficiency with CAD design/modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo) for fixture design or model modification.
  • Experience with other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser scanners, optical comparators).
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and software.
  • Advanced application of GD&T, potentially including training or mentorship experience.
