EHS Manager | Battle Creek, MI

Salary Range: $86,000 - $131,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations and standards.
• Conduct EHS risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
• Manage and deliver comprehensive EHS training programs for all employees.
• Oversee hazardous waste management, environmental permits, and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and culture across the manufacturing site.
• Lead emergency preparedness and response planning and drills.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and industry best practices.
• Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, EHS audits, and develop effective training programs.
• Professional EHS certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is highly preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) certification
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Experience with EHS management software platforms (e.g., Gensuite, Intelex, Sphera)
• ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification
• Experience managing EHS across multiple manufacturing sites
