Salary Range: $79,000 - $119,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and document robust laser welding processes for manufacturing applications.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for laser weld defects and equipment malfunctions.
- Design and procure laser welding fixtures, tooling, and automation solutions.
- Collaborate with design and R&D teams to ensure new product designs are optimized for laser weldability.
- Establish and monitor critical quality control parameters for laser welded joints.
- Manage the preventive maintenance, calibration, and upgrades of all laser welding equipment.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance laser weld quality, reduce scrap, and increase throughput.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience with industrial laser welding processes (e.g., fiber, YAG, CO2) in a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth understanding of laser physics, optics, beam delivery systems, and welding metallurgy for various materials.
- Proven ability in laser weld process development, optimization, and root cause analysis for defect resolution.
- Experience with weld inspection techniques (e.g., visual, NDT, destructive testing) and quality control methodologies.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with robotic programming (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, KUKA) for automated laser welding cells.
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and/or Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques relevant to laser welds.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for fixture design, tool path generation, or process simulation.
