Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement welding procedures and specifications to ensure product quality and integrity.
• Oversee welding operations, troubleshoot production issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables for various manufacturing applications.
• Train and qualify welding personnel on new procedures and techniques.
• Conduct quality control inspections and testing of welds to verify compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize product design for weldability.
• Research and evaluate new welding technologies and materials to improve efficiency and performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment in the welding area.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification.
• Proven experience with various welding processes (e.g., SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, SAW) and their application in manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of welding metallurgy, materials science, and heat treatment processes.
• Proficiency in welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, API) and their application in quality control and inspection.
• Experience with welding procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), and welder performance qualifications (WPQ).

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with advanced welding processes like laser welding or electron beam welding.
• - Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and their application in welding operations.
• - Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods relevant to welding.
• - Project management experience, particularly in implementing new welding technologies or processes.
