Incoming Inspection Technician | Coopersville, MI

Salary Range: $47,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming raw materials, components, and finished goods.
  • Verify incoming product against engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, and quality standards.
  • Utilize various metrology tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators) to ensure accuracy.
  • Document inspection results accurately, maintaining detailed records of accepted and rejected materials.
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming materials, initiating Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Purchasing, and Engineering departments regarding material discrepancies.
  • Assist in the maintenance and verification of inspection equipment calibration.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated experience with precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles and non-conforming material (NCM) processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately identify defects.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and record keeping.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience operating or programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles.
  • Prior experience with ERP/MRP systems for inventory and quality data management.
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification or equivalent continuous improvement training.
