Salary Range: $54,000 - $78,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Muskegon that are seeking skilled Shipping & Receiving Leads. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Train, mentor, and supervise shipping and receiving personnel, providing guidance and feedback.
• Manage inventory levels within the shipping and receiving areas, conducting regular cycle counts.
• Ensure proper documentation, labeling, and packaging of all outgoing shipments according to company and carrier standards.
• Inspect incoming goods for damage and discrepancies, reconciling shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shipping and receiving docks.
• Coordinate with production, logistics, and customer service departments to meet delivery schedules and resolve issues.
• Operate and maintain shipping and receiving equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring their safe and proper use.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in a shipping and receiving environment, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of inventory management systems and warehouse procedures.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to guide and motivate a team.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for warehouse operations.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• - Forklift certification and experience operating various types of forklifts.
• - Basic understanding of inventory management software and ERP systems.
• - Familiarity with customs and international shipping regulations.
