HR Generalist | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $58,000 - $85,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for production, technical, and administrative roles within manufacturing.
• Provide guidance and support on employee relations, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures in a plant environment.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws, OSHA regulations, and company policies.
• Administer compensation, benefits, and leave management for a multi-shift manufacturing workforce.
• Oversee performance management processes, talent development, and facilitate training programs, especially in safety and operational skills.
• Lead workers' compensation claim management and promote a proactive safety culture through incident investigation and prevention initiatives.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA) applicable to manufacturing operations
• Proven experience in employee relations, including grievance resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions, particularly with hourly workforces
• Proficiency with HRIS systems for data management, reporting, and payroll support
• Understanding of workers' compensation processes and HR's role in promoting a safe work environment

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with OSHA compliance, industrial safety programs, or workers' compensation in a manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen) and their application to HR processes.
• Experience in a unionized environment, including collective bargaining agreement administration and grievance handling.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit for skilled trades and technical roles common in manufacturing.
