Salary Range: $54,000 - $88,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop CNC programs for lathes using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit).
  • Analyze engineering drawings and models to determine optimal machining strategies.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and workholding devices.
  • Simulate and verify CNC programs to prevent collisions and optimize tool paths.
  • Troubleshoot and debug programs on the shop floor to ensure efficient production.
  • Optimize existing programs for improved cycle times, surface finish, and tool life.
  • Document program details, setup sheets, and tooling lists for manufacturing.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming for CNC lathes.
  • Demonstrated experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM).
  • Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, and fixture design for turning operations.
  • Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with part setup, offsets, and in-process adjustments on CNC lathes.
  • Knowledge of various materials and their machining characteristics.
