Salary Range: $53,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Manistee that are seeking skilled CNC Mill Programmers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and edit CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis mills using CAM software.
• Analyze engineering drawings, 3D models, and specifications to determine optimal machining strategies.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine parameters for various materials.
• Perform program simulations and verify G-code to ensure accuracy and prevent collisions.
• Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot programs and optimize machining processes.
• Implement continuous improvements for programming efficiency and part quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) for generating CNC programs.
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code for manual programming and program editing.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
• Experience with various tooling, fixturing, and workholding methods for CNC milling.
• Knowledge of different materials and their machining characteristics.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with 5-axis programming.
• Familiarity with a variety of CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM).
• Ability to design and create custom fixtures.
• Strong understanding of GD&T.
• Prior experience in a high-mix, low-volume production environment.
