Salary Range: $59,000 - $93,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop CNC programs for 3-axis to 5-axis milling machines using CAD/CAM software.
• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters for various materials and part geometries.
• Simulate and verify CNC programs to detect and correct potential collisions or machining errors.
• Create and maintain detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and operational instructions for machinists.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and resolve design or production issues.
• Troubleshoot and debug CNC programs and machine operations on the shop floor.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance programming efficiency and machining quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years experience programming 3-axis (or more) CNC mills in a production environment.
• Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming, with strong manual editing capabilities.
• Expert-level knowledge of CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, Esprit) for generating complex toolpaths.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including GD&T.
• Strong understanding of cutting tools, workholding, and machining strategies for various materials.
• Experience with in-process inspection and utilizing measurement tools to ensure part quality.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with multi-axis (4/5-axis) programming.
• Proficiency in CAM software beyond basic G-code (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM).
• Ability to perform in-process inspection using CMM or other metrology equipment.
• Experience with automation and robotics integration (e.g., part loaders, tool changers).
• Strong understanding of GD&T and its application in manufacturing.
