Salary Range: $54,000 - $81,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Allegan region seeking Buyers. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates—not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize cost and quality.
• Source and select new suppliers, conduct vendor qualification, and manage ongoing supplier relationships.
• Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and internal demand to develop effective procurement strategies.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure material specifications and delivery align with manufacturing needs.
• Manage inventory levels and optimize purchasing cycles to minimize carrying costs and prevent stockouts.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements within the procurement function.
• Resolve supplier performance issues, including quality discrepancies, late deliveries, and invoice discrepancies.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing purchasing role.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships.
• Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP or Oracle.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and supply chain optimization.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle
• APICS certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP)
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles
• Project management experience
