Salary Range: $62,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Muskegon that are seeking Buyers. Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize cost and quality.
• Source and evaluate new suppliers to ensure a robust and competitive supply base.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and innovation.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Manage purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to define material specifications and requirements.
• Implement inventory management strategies to minimize carrying costs while ensuring material availability.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a purchasing or buyer role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
• Strong understanding of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and blueprints.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex)
• APICS CSCP or CPIM certification
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and practices
• Project management experience
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or blueprints
