EHS Manager | Battle Creek, MI

Salary Range: $81,000 - $126,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Battle Creek that are seeking skilled EHS Managers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and development of preventative measures for EHS-related incidents.
• Manage hazardous waste programs, including proper storage, labeling, disposal, and record-keeping.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all employees, covering topics such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and hazard communication.
• Oversee the industrial hygiene program, including air monitoring, noise surveys, and exposure assessments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into new projects, processes, and equipment.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant environmental and safety regulations.
• Proven experience developing and implementing EHS programs and management systems.
• Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive EHS training programs.
• Proficiency in EHS management software and data analysis tools.
• Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement certifications.
