Salary Range: $62,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Byron Center seeking CNC Swiss Lathe Operators who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision parts.
• Perform in-process inspections using various metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, optical comparators).
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code programs.
• Adjust machine offsets and tooling to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms, tool wear, and part quality issues.
• Load and unload bar stock, ensuring proper material handling and machine feeding.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss-style lathes.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming for machine adjustments.
• Experience with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, comparators) to ensure part quality.
• Ability to perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot common operational issues.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in CNC machining preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with CAM software (e.g., PartMaker, Esprit) for program optimization
• Experience with in-process gauging and SPC data collection
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on CNC machinery
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles beyond basic blueprint reading
• Prior experience training or mentoring junior operators
