Quality Engineer | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $70,000 - $104,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the East Lansing region seeking Quality Engineers. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates—not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality control procedures and inspection plans.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for non-conformances.
• Monitor and analyze production processes to identify areas for quality improvement.
• Perform product inspections and audits to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure quality is integrated throughout the product lifecycle.
• Facilitate the resolution of customer quality complaints and feedback.
• Maintain and update quality documentation, including control plans, FMEAs, and work instructions.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
• Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, FMEA).
• Strong understanding of metrology, inspection techniques, and GD&T.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) software.
• ASQ certifications (e.g., CQE, CSSGB).
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, FMEA).
• Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis.
