Quality Inspector | Montague, MI

Salary Range: $47,000 - $72,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished products for conformance to specifications.
• Document inspection results, including any non-conformances, and maintain accurate quality records.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections using various measuring tools and equipment.
• Identify and quarantine non-conforming materials and products, initiating appropriate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production personnel to address quality issues and implement preventive measures.
• Conduct first-article inspections and in-process checks to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Assist in the development and improvement of quality control procedures and work instructions.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
• Familiarity with various measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and their proper use
• Strong understanding of quality control processes and standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
• Ability to perform detailed visual inspections and identify defects

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with PPAP, FMEAs, and Control Plans
• Certification in ASQ CQA, CQI, or CSSBB
• Proficient in using an ERP system for quality data entry and analysis
• Ability to interpret and apply GD&T principles
• Basic understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
