Salary Range: $60,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in East Lansing that are seeking skilled Finishing Supervisors. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct the finishing team, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures within the finishing department.
• Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate maintenance as needed.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate finishing personnel to optimize performance and foster skill development.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of orders.
• Maintain accurate records of production data, material usage, and finished goods inventory.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing finishing processes (e.g., painting, polishing, assembly).
• Proven ability to lead and supervise a team of 10+ production personnel.
• Strong understanding of quality control standards and defect prevention in finishing.
• Demonstrated experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and collaboration.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems for production planning and inventory management.
• Demonstrated ability to train and mentor production staff.
• Experience with quality control systems and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, SPC).
• Bilingual (e.g., English/Spanish) to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce.
