Materials Manager | Holland, MI

Salary Range: $85,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Holland that are seeking Materials Managers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement materials management strategies.
• Oversee inventory control, planning, and procurement processes.
• Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with suppliers.
• Analyze material usage and forecast future needs to optimize inventory levels.
• Lead and mentor a team of purchasing, planning, and warehouse personnel.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives for materials flow and cost reduction.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in materials management, production planning, or inventory control within a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex) for inventory management and production planning
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and their application to materials flow
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of materials professionals

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to implement and manage an MRP/ERP system
• Familiarity with a variety of material types and their applications in manufacturing (e.g., metals, plastics, composites)
• Proven track record of successful negotiation with suppliers and vendors
• Knowledge of international trade regulations and supply chain best practices
