Incoming Inspection Technician | Otsego, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $68,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Otsego seeking Incoming Inspection Technicians who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies against engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Document inspection results accurately in the Quality Management System (QMS) and maintain detailed inspection records.
• Identify and tag non-conforming materials, initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and support disposition activities.
• Utilize precision measurement tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
• Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and production teams to resolve material discrepancies and improve supplier quality.
• Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and verify compliance of new or revised parts.
• Maintain calibration status of inspection equipment and ensure proper storage and handling.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-3 years experience in quality control or manufacturing inspection
• Proficiency with various metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify non-conforming product
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with a CMM or other automated inspection equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T.
• Certification in a quality discipline (e.g., ASQ CQT, CQI).
• Familiarity with ERP systems for managing inventory and quality records.
