Salary Range: $86,000 - $121,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Lansing that are seeking IATF Quality Engineers. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IATF 16949 compliant quality management system processes.
  • Lead APQP activities including FMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP submissions.
  • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure adherence to IATF 16949 standards and customer specific requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using core quality tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa) to resolve non-conformances and prevent recurrence.
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product launches and process changes to ensure quality gates are met.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing preferred) or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering within an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise and practical application of IATF 16949 standards and core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
  • Proven ability to lead problem-solving initiatives using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, or Fishbone diagrams.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab).
  • ASQ certifications (CQE, CSSBB, or CSQP) are highly desirable.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with PPAP/APQP submissions and customer-specific requirements.
  • Certified Lead Auditor for IATF 16949.
  • Proficient in statistical software (e.g., Minitab) for data analysis and process improvement.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Knowledge of specific manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, molding, assembly) relevant to the company's products.
