Incoming Inspection Technician | Kentwood, MI
Salary Range: $48,000 - $72,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Kentwood that are seeking skilled Incoming Inspection Technicians. Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies against specifications and drawings.
- Document inspection results accurately, including non-conformances, using designated forms and software.
- Initiate and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for rejected materials, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.
- Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
- Maintain inspection equipment and tools, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Interpret and apply engineering drawings, blueprints, and quality standards to inspection processes.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve material quality issues.
Recommended Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
- 1-3 years experience in quality control, inspection, or manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in using various measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformances.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with AS9100 or other aerospace quality standards.
- CMM operation or programming experience.
- IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T.
