Field Service Technician | Wayland, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Wayland that are seeking skilled Field Service Technicians. Key Responsibilities

• Respond to, diagnose, and resolve mechanical and electrical issues on manufacturing equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Install, commission, and troubleshoot new manufacturing equipment and control systems.
• Document service activities, including repairs, parts used, and time spent, in a CMMS.
• Provide technical support and training to production operators on equipment operation and basic maintenance.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing service and maintenance tasks.

Recommended Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., electronics, mechatronics, industrial maintenance) or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and control systems.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
• Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and other automation components.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose complex technical issues independently.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently to customer sites.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Certifications in relevant technologies or equipment (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics).
• Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for logging service and managing parts.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
