Salary Range: $53,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are working with companies in St. Johns that are adding Payroll Specialists to their teams. These organizations value quality over speed in hiring. By connecting with us, you position yourself for opportunities that align with what you're looking for.

Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage timekeeping systems and integrate data for payroll processing, including shift differentials and overtime.
• Prepare and submit all federal, state, and local payroll tax filings and reports.
• Administer employee benefits deductions, including health insurance, 401(k), and garnishments.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and general ledger entries, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and tax information.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws.

Recommended Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience processing payroll for a medium to large workforce, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and HRIS systems; experience with timekeeping systems.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including tax compliance and wage and hour laws.
• Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and reconciliation.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
